How to Read a Tyre Size
For instance, if you see a tyre marked as 205/55R17 91V, it means:
- 205: The width of the tyre in millimetres.
- 55: The height of the tyre’s sidewall as a percentage of its width.
- R: The type of construction (R for radial, D for diagonal, and B for belted).
- 17: The diameter of the wheel in inches.
- 91: The load rating, indicating the maximum load the tyre can carry.
- V: The speed rating, indicating the maximum speed the tyre can safely handle.
